71 - A Deal at Only $20,000!

71 - A Deal at Only $20,000!, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.

It really is a deal! We had been told that my son had twelve permanent teeth missing from his mouth, and all his dental work could cost up to $60,000. We visited the prosthodontist today, and he thinks he will only have to do THREE implants! The rest can be taken care of with veneers. He even thinks he doesn't need to do anything with the #18 molar!

So, we were relieved to know that it was going to be 1/3 of the cost that we had been expecting.

We went out and celebrated with dinner!

Glad you got that good news, Carol. How many years do they think the work will take? Btw, I will take this photo as yet another reminder that one of these days I should at least take my boys to the dentist...! LOL

Another dentist photo! I would be in sticker shot with those kinds of prices. I was floored when we had to spend over 5,000 on Kayleigh's teeth, after insurance. Nathan's is a lot more, but my sister's insurance is covering 100% of his.

Wow!! And hadn't you been preparing for this for a long time!! What a gift in disguise :-)!

Yes, Tia, we had been saving. So, yes, it is a blessing in disguise!

I'm cracking up imagining you asking the dentist and your son for this photo op! You are a bold 365'er! Love the good news too. (So did you figure out macro on your camera? This is a real close-up.)

Well, there is this setting with a flower that seems to allow me to get a bit closer, but I am thinking like really close like Ampersand's crayons. I don't think I can do that, and I really want to. Still need to contact your friend. Life has been so crazy, but it is on my list.

Forgot to add that the prosthodontist was totally cool and thought the photo thing was really neat. My son kept saying, "My mom is a little camera happy these days." This guy was over the top NICE. We went to OSU at the same time so he had tracked in my basketball days. It was a pleasant way to spend 110 dollar for about five minutes of looking in my son's mouth. LOL. :)

YAY!! I am so glad the expense was less, even though it is HUGE.

I hope you enjoyed your meal. :-)
