We have a tradition of stopping at the Railroad Park Resort Caboose Motel in Dunsmuir, CA every time we return from our time in Southern California. It is a time for us to decompress and process our time. This is the inside of a real train caboose! See our CA set on flickr for all the pictures of the surrounding area. It is so beautiful!

Dunsmuir! Remember that Jon grew up there? Great photo of the caboose. I don't think I even knew that "hotel" existed.

Oh, me! I'd be torn between the novelty and the claustrophobia!! Maybe the window would be enough...

What a neat, neat idea!

Not claustrophobic at all. It has even more light than most hotel rooms that just have one window that looks out over a parking lots. The area behind me is the bathroom, and it is all windows (beause it is the back of the caboose and has a door). So, when the bathroom is open it is very light.

Yes, Julie, I was going to say something in my post. I always pray for you and Jon when I go there because I remember that Jon grew up there!

Come Susan! I would love it. The North-South route is really beautiful in the West. I even like the valley because of all he agricultural land that you see.

We grow to love the trip more and more. We had such a great ride as a family. Lots of love and laughter and no fighting. :)

Ever since I've known you, Carol, I've wanted to follow in your footsteps and stay at this place. All my guys would get such a kick out of it! Looks even better than I imagined. : )
