Saw this on my prayer walk downtown with Teala on Saturday. I cracked me.

216 - Carol's Clothesline of Art
My husband helped Carol hang her art up at the Corvallis Art Guild "Clothesline Sale of Art" on the courthouse lawn. Carol was in my James Precept study in 2004-05. She has lived a hard life! She is a lovely, talented, godly lady and I just love how her dress matches the colors in her art. :)

189 - County Courthouse by Day
I have been wanting to do a comparison day photo with the one I did in April. So, I used the same camera (Canon Point and Shoot). The one in April was not a black and white photo either.
I confess that I took this yesterday. I spent too much of today deleting picture to make room on my hard drive to go out and take more. Plus, I would get this same picture today as I got yesterday because the weather is just as gorgeous and the building didn't move. :)

176 - Joy Like a Fountain
"A kind heart is a fountain of gladness, making everything in its vicinity freshen into smiles." -- Washington Irving

172 - Parking Lot Mosaic
The artist was working on this mosaic in the underground parking lot of the library when I was on my bike ride yesterday, and I so regretted not having my camera with me. We went back to pick up all my movies :) and more books today so I was able to get some shots. It is a scene of my town (notice the Irish Bend Covered Bridge from a February photo set) and will eventually have yet another artistic rendition of that famous courthouse!

160 - Heart of the Valley
My boys and I looking over our city after a dinner out followed by an early evening hike. We are literally in the the "heart" of the beautiful Willamette Valley. So, the name of our town means "heart of the valley" in Latin. This is the closest hill to our house, and our family hikes up to it on a regular basis.

154 - Wildcat Finished at 6 p.m.
I am in tears as I write this post. How fulfilling it was to be a small part of something so wonderful that brought our community together! Dh and I headed down after church to help with the final touches on Wildcat Park today. The park was to be finished by 5 p.m., and we thought it was perfect because we had to be at the Global Day of Prayer at 6 p.m. At about 5:15 p.m., we realized that there was no way we could leave! We wanted to get it done because the kids were all lining up outside the park waiting for it to be done. It was so rewarding to see them all flood the park at about 6:25 p.m. tonight!
You can see the whole set from today here. For those of you who have followed this blog, you might remember that I put a picture of the Benton County Courthouse here. Well, as you can see, they did a replica of it in Wildcat Park.
So cool!

109 - County Courthouse at 11 p.m.
I went to see "My Fair Lady" at the Majestic Theatre tonight, and I didn't get out until almost 11 p.m. As I was walking to my car, I saw the courthouse with its night lights glowing, and I had to get a picture. The moon looked really neat alongside it, but I couldn't get it in the picture.
I have been up since 5:30 a.m. and have gone all day long. I am ready for bed!

96 - Down by the Riverside
Teala and I spent the afternoon talking on a park bench at Riverfront Park. The OSU Crew team rowed by for a picture!

95 - The Majestic
We went to see Twelfth Night today. It was a production at our local theatre put on by kids from elementary through high school, and it was most entertaining!
On a sad note: Something is wrong with the auto focus on my D-80. It won't focus when the lens is fully extended. So, I think I am going to have to send it to the doctor, and that will mean a point and shoot for a while.

88 - Magnolia Blossoms at My Alma Mater
I went for a walk through Oregon State University today. It was a lovely spring day. I used to love to sit out in the Memorial Union quad and look at the beautiful "Tulip" tree blossoms when I was in college. I didn't even know they were Magnolias until my dh enlightened me a few years ago.

38 - Pleasure

This is a place that gives me great pleasure. It is the reading room of my library. It is on the opposite side of the Children's section. It is the "old" part of the library built in 1931. It has a beautiful wood ceiling and pretty windows.
I chose a color of B&W that gives it an antique sort of look and also keeps with the B&W self-portrait theme.
I sit here while my kids search for books. It is quiet, and I love it when the sunlight pours in the windows as I sit in the wing backed chairs. It is not only pleasure, but it is also peace for me.
My favorite memory of this place was when I was going through an incredibly difficult time in 2001, and I sat here all day and read my Bible and prayed and something just lifted. It has always brought me incredible peace to be here because of that memory.
