Pain and Eugene O'Neill
I must have wrenched my back during the sit-ups in Group Power on Wednesday night. Not knowing it, I had two elliptical workouts and a walk between then and Friday night when the spasms came! Saturday morning brought unbearable pain. So, I took Naproxen, sat in my ergonomic computer chair, and read this book all day (getting up frequently and stretching).
It was interesting to go through physical pain as I read about the emotional pain of this autobiographical, Pulitzer Prize winning drama by Eugene O'Neill. That man went through such pain growing up. No wonder he was such a tortured adult! His genius shines through in this drama from the era of Realism. It is nothing short of brilliant and SAD. I'm glad I have HOPE.

Wardie's Book
"To sit alone in the lamplight with a book spread out before you, and hold intimate converse with men of unseen generations - such is a pleasure beyond compare." ~Kenko Yoshida
It is so fun to read my grandmother's ("Wardie") copy of Silas Marner with her notes and underlining inside.

Today I learned how to record onto my computer and how to export into an MP3 so that we can listen to Homer!

221 - Individuals Can Make History
I read page 151 through tears this afternoon. Praise God for people like William Wilberforce.

220 - Library Spoils
"You go into the restaurants of a town and you see people with hungry stomachs, but you go into the library of the same town and you will see hungry brains feasting upon their favorites. There are all too few libraries, and far too many restaurants. People should eat less and think more." - Matthew Adams

219 - Satisfaction
Chai tea and a good book. Ahhhhh. . .satisfaction! I saw these two items on my coffee table today and thought they matched so well in color too. :)
