217 - All Cooped Up
Sunday, August 5, 2007
This chicken coop has been in use for the better part of my husband's 45 years, and he doesn't think it has ever been cleaned. Needless to say . . .
There is a lot of Poop in that Coop!
LOL!
(P.S. What do you think they are saying to one another?)

194 - First Glimpse
This baby tree swallow is on the verge of flying away from the nest and needed to take his/her first glimpse of the world.
My kids built this birdhouse with my husband at the Youth Outdoor Day about three years ago, and this is the FIRST time we have been able to capture a picture of one of the chicks!

76 - Afterglow
I am laughing hysterically as I type this post. My kids were just here, and they are asking, "What's afterglow?" When we laughed, our youngest said, "OK." He knew it was something we just didn't want to explain to him.
I was talking with my friend on the cell phone, sitting by the edge of the river with my camera in hand when I exclaimed, "Kim, I think these ducks are having sex!" (My husband is hoovering over me saying, "Carol, animals don't have sex! They copulate." Thank you Marlin Perkins, Jr!) I had just one hand, and I missed photographing the "deed," exclaiming to my friend on the phone that I didn't know they did this in the water! I did manage to get an action shot of their behavior following it. All they need is cigarettes. Can you give a title for what he is thinking? What she is thinking?
Sorry, I am in a very silly mood right now, and my husband is hoovering over me as I type this post making me laugh.
I had a hard time choosing the picture today! See the whole set of my morning, walking to Book Babes and leisurely return home at:

What would be a better one to post?

51 - Do You Think This is My Best Side?
It has been raining pretty consistently the last few days, but I have been longing for some outdoor shots (and exercise!). It cleared up for only a few hours today (It is POURING as I type this - Actually, it is hailing!), and I was able to walk during the boys' music lessons. I walked out to Irish Bend Covered Bridge on the OSU Campus. I wanted to post a cool picture of the bridge, but this sheep just begged me to have her picture taken so I could show you her best side! All women are alike! LOL!
Here is the short Irish Bend Covered Bridge Set on Flickr:

43 - Eager Beaver
This creature changes the landscape more than any other creature, except man, according to the IMAX movie on Beavers.
Taken at Stewart Lake on the Hewlett-Packard campus.
