After dinner, our tradition has been to watch It's a Wonderful Life, but last year, we added The Muppet Christmas Carol. I absolutely love this film. It is funny and poignant at all the right places. This song at the end is especially touching.
"Light the Lamp not the rat!" LOL!
We watched this first . Then, we watched It's a Wonderful Life until almost midnight. Love this film too. Makes me cry everytime with its message:
"Remember, no man is a failure who has friends."
Every Christmas Eve, we have a dinner with "Red and Green" colors. This year it was red potatoes and meat with green broccoli and beans.
For years, we always had a family over for Christmas Eve, but for the last two years, we have decided to go out and serve in the afternoon and be home with just the family in the evening.
I love it.
This is an amazing Gingerbread House at the Timberhill Place Assisted-Living facility on Highland and Spruce. The Beautician started working on it in JULY. It takes over 30 lbs of frosting. You can see below for all the details. It was incredible.

We all talked about getting the tripod out and getting a picture of the six of us, but the conversation just kept going. What a lovely time with lifelong friends.

We have so many lovely traditions at our house. One of which is decorating gingerbread houses with the Kinkade family. Christopher couldn't come this year because he was stuck at the Boy Scout Christmas tree lot, but it is usually Nathan and Paul who do most of the decorating of the house while the others get distracted rather quickly and go downstairs to the basement of no return.
Mrs. Kinkade, Dee, is one of the kindest people that I know and also the calmest. She manages four children with grace and ease, and they are four very well-behaved, polite children. I know the FIFTH child on the way will be the same with Dee and Michael parenting them.
We love the Kinkade family with all our hearts and will be so sad to see them move to Forest Grove in June. It is great news for Mr. Kinkade though because he is realized his lifelong dream of being a fire chief!

Some traditions are so precious. I think this is our is eighth year doing this together with the Iszlers. The love of good friends is something I am so appreciative of this Christmas season.
