I read that so many years ago that I remember nothing at all about it!! Sigh. I'd add it to my book list if I thought there was a chance I'd ever get to it. :-)
Oh Laura, it is not that long compared to her Middlemarch. I listened to half of it by a great narrator: Andrew Sachs. Best narration of a book I have ever heard. I was enthralled!
Well, I don't know. After Mill on the Floss I swore I would never read Eliot again. And Middlemarch was sooooooo tedious. But your recommendation is making me rethink my bias. Seriously.
From what I gather Silas Marner is very different. It is much shorter than Middlemarch, and it also is a beautiful story. I really think you would like it. There is quite a bit of "commoner" language in it. That is why it was easier for me to listen to it and follow along in my book. :) The narrator was so good!
