The boys were at a park for Brett's birthday party. So, George and I took a hike up to the top of Bald Hill.

Memorial Day with the Stews and Z's
We have spent the last few Memorial Days with families that are very dear to us. After dinner, the two other moms and I took a walk around the block. Then, we played a rousing game of badminton!
Badminton Duo
Fun, fun fun. We had fun being partners while Daniel's dad took pictures of us. Daniel, why don't you like Les Miserables???? At the end of the day, he borrowed Moby Dick, depite my warnings that it was 100 pages of plot and 500 pages of whaling encyclopedia.

A Day on The Property

A Day on The Property, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
Orange Rhododrendon
It is a tradition to go to Newberg for Memorial Day Weekend. We had a wonderful lunch with my mother-in-law. Then, we put flowers on the grandparents' graves and visited the Morelands at their house. Finally, George and I took a walk up on the property to check out how the tree seedlings were doing. It was a very refreshing day for all of us.

We have always thought it would be lovely to build a house from this sight on the family property.

Every Memorial Day Weekend. George lays flowers on the graves of all four of his grandparents. This was his mother's mother.

Missy and Me at the Sea
May 12, 2008
It is blurry, but I just don't get this point and shoot some times. I had to include it because I am so inept at doing these kinds of pictures on these kinds of cameras. It also documented a special day (See below for explanation of the day).
May Missy at the Sea
May 12, 2008
She came from Indiana for only four days, and I was gone for two of those four days. So, we hatched a plan to have me take her to the coast to visit her in-laws. Then, we split up and had time alone with God on the beach. Missy is a hard core, love Jesus, tell the truth friend. I have grown to love and appreciate her more than she probably even realizes. Thanks for a great day, Missy! Loved your word picture: "Don't Pick Up the Snake!"

Happy Mother's Day, Mom

Happy Mother's Day, Mom, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
While my mom was dying, she kept saying "May 11th, 10 a.m." over and over and over again. I didn't realize until I got my 2008 calendar that this was Mother's Day. So, I purposed to go somewhere and celebrate my mom on this day and time. I climbed to the top of Chip Ross Park near my house and prayed and celebrated my mom.
God met me in a powerful way and put before me a powerful path for the future. It was amazing. Highlight of my year.
THANKS MOM for everything!!!!

Indian Feast
May 9, 2008
We made a trip to Seattle to be with like-minded friends who love Internationals as much as we do! We had this wonderful Indian feast! The Chai tea at the end was fabulous, and I got the recipe!

Frog Dissection at Gilbert House

Frog Dissection at Gilbert House, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
Organizing is SO not my gift, but I managed to organize fourteen kids in a frog dissection at A.C. Gilbert in Salem. It went really well, and it was a joy to visit with these lovely homeschool moms.

Librarian Action Figure
I know. I didn't take this, but I just had to add this to my 365. Paul won this as a door prize at "An Evening with Our Stars": a lovely dinner for library volunteers. We laughed. Every single member of our family won something! I won four Solstice Bars (yum!), Michael won a Glen Cambell All-Time Favorite Hits CD, and George won the best of all: a $25 gift certificate to THE GABLES! (Our favorite restaurant!!!!)
